Adopt A Family Is a Success!

You already know that FFCCU is committed to serving our communities – and a part of that dedication is expressed through charitable giving. Every year, we support several charities through a variety of fundraisers – the most delicious of which is our in-branch candy sales in partnership with Malley’s chocolates.

In the latter half of 2023, we collaborated with The Littlest Heroes, a pediatric cancer foundation that supports the needs of entire families struggling with childhood cancer. Every year during the holiday season, The Littlest Heroes hosts Adopt-A-Family, a program where generous donors buy holiday gifts for families navigating the emotional and financial hurdles of cancer. As part of our collaboration, FFCCU “adopted” six families and challenged both credit union members and teammates to get involved and bring some much-needed cheer this season.

We asked, and you answered – in a BIG way! Here are the results of FFCCU’s part in Adopt-A-Family 2023:

Highlights:

• Gifts were given to 31 family members – across 6 different families
• Members made 285 donations – including gifts and monetary contributions
• Total money raised $2,839.61 – After all gifts were purchased, funds remained to donate directly to Littlest Heroes!

Our Thanks

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you for your unwavering commitment and tireless efforts in supporting this noble cause. As we engaged with our members throughout Adopt-A-Family, we discovered the profound impact pediatric cancer has on countless families.

We were deeply touched by a heartwarming story that came from a shared branching member whose granddaughter had previously received support from Littlest Heroes. This member not only went above and beyond, donating several gifts, but also left us a heartfelt ‘thank you’ card, bracelets, and sharing her granddaughters’ story. We invite you to learn more about her granddaughter.

The overwhelming outpouring of gifts and donations we have received is a testament to the incredible generosity not only of our members but also our teammates. We were able to fulfill ALL of the items on the holiday wish lists from families and still have over $1,000 to donate to Littlest Heroes. Thank you for all your support and generosity!
