Be More Than a Customer. Join and Become of Member

At Firefighters Community Credit Union (FFCCU), we’re not just for firefighters!

Membership is available anyone who lives, works, worships or attends school in these Ohio Counties: Cuyahoga • Geauga• Lake • Lorain• Medina• Portage • Summit

As a not-for-profit, financial co-op our members enjoy great rates, low fees along with all the products and services you’ve come to expect from a big bank, but better, because at FFCCU, members matter. Every member is an equal share holder of our credit union (read below to learn more). As a member of our co-op, you truly make a difference because members’ deposits fund other members’ loans and those loans help us to keep the rates great and fees low. Every dollar of profit the credit union makes is reinvested into the credit union and community. No stuffy suites here, just local people making an impact on people’s live and our community.  We are people, helping people.

As a credit union, we are able to determine credit worthiness on more than just a person’s credit score. We look at the whole person, their story and try to truly understand their needs. We offer typical loans such as vehicle, home and credit cards, but we also offer personal, emergency and signature loans for those unexpected times when a little help can go a long way. Members obtain these types of loans for car repairs, wardrobes for first jobs, engagement rings and everything in between and we’re happy to help.

We also offer exclusive member perks including discount tickets to amusement parks and movies, FREE coin counting and notary services because we understand that saving money wherever you can is important!

Over 30,000 other Northeast Ohioans are already experiencing the benefits of membership. What are you waiting for?

Join FFCCU and become a member. Be part of something bigger, have a direct impact on our community and achieve your financial goals.

Credit Unions vs Banks

Credit Unions
Banks
Not for profit.
Earnings are returned to members through services like free ATMs, better rates and lower fees.
For-profit corporations who offer a full range of financial products and services.
Credit unions are democratically governed and
elections are based on a one-member, one-vote philosophy.
Banks are governed by paid shareholders. Voting rights depend on the number of shares owned.
More than 30,000 surcharge-free ATMs.Banks require customers to use their branded ATMs and branches for services or pay fees. Some services are unavailable outside the bank.
Credit unions are local, community based financial institutions. Members support their local communities when they bank at a credit union.Banks are big! The average size of a bank is double that of a credit union.
Credit unions have members, not shareholders.Banks have customers and shareholders. They must make money from their customers to please shareholders.
